Why would I want to use a closed cell instead of an open cell foam?

1. R-Value - Closed cell foams have a superior R-Value per inch. This can be extremely important if you have limited space. 2. Extremely durable and rigid - Closed cell foams are durable enough for exposed applications. Closed cell foams are so rigid that they add to the structural integrity of the building. 3. Vapor Barrier - In high humidity structures, closed cell foams (after 2 inches in thickness) meet vapor barrier, air barrier and insulation requirements in a one step application. |
Good applications for closed cell foam
- Exteriors
- High humidity applications i.e. Indoor pools
- Industrial shops or warehouses
NOTE: All Spray foams are plastics and require a 15-minute thermal barrier separation from occupants.
