EPA Approved Wood-burning
n 1993, The Hayes Company decided to provide yet another service to the residential construction market and added a fireplace division. Presently, Hayes Fireplaces is one of the major fireplace installers in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area.

Indoor/Outdoor Wood
We have seen the demand for wood burning fireplaces decline in favor of the gas models. Lennox Hearth Products, is our brand of choice, and although they manufacture a fine wood burner, the convenience and heating efficiency of the gas appliance fireplace has helped it become a popular offering in many new homes. Our prices range from a four hundred-dollar wood burning unit to a twenty-one hundred-dollar multi-view gas appliance, depending on desired options.
The main differences between the wood burning fireplaces are the interior dimensions of the firebox, the "seal" created by the damper when closed, and realism of the firebrick inside the firebox.

Louverless Direct Vent
Many manufacturers use a common chassis or box to produce the B-Vent and Direct Vent. It is easy to mistake one for the other based on appearances only. The B-Vent will have fixed glass or operational doors. Whatever the case, the glass will not be sealed because the system will draw combustion air from the living space or from the outdoors if the combustion air kit was installed. Although these models have very attractive flames they are not known for efficient heat production.

Compact Direct Vent See-Thru
The differences between the gas units are due to the number of categories. The decorative appliance is the B-Vent model, which must vent vertically. The direct vent gas appliance draws combustion air from the outdoors and has the ability to vent horizontally. The need for chimney is often eliminated; any space directly above the unit then becomes the home for a media center of perhaps a bookshelf. Now available is the MPD35ST, the smallest see-thru direct vent in the industry |
The more efficient vent free fireplace requires no venting system whatsoever. When this type of fireplace burns, the flame makes little or no contact with the logs, eliminating the need for any venting and elevating the efficiency to not quite 100%.

Elite Outdoor Gas Stainless Steel
Now featuring a "go-anywhere" configuration, stainless steel design that requires no venting. This dramatic fire realism brings the beauty, ambiance and convenience of a gas fire to any outdoor setting. One of the many standards with this unit is a battery-powered intermittent ignition.
Please take note that all gas fireplaces are available in propane.
