Insulating
We are building envelope experts and insulation is our specialty. We have the capability to use many different products. We have a solution for all areas of the house that require insulating or air sealing.
Air Sealing
Air sealing involves simply sealing the gaps and holes in the envelope to prevent unwanted air from entering and to prevent desirable air from exiting the house. These air leakage spots are in a variety of areas in the home and must be sealed with many different methods.  It can sometimes be accomplished in the same step as insulating depending on the product and method chosen.
Windows/Doors
Weatherstripping, Sealing, and full replacement of doors and windows.  As well as installation of storm doors or windows.
Duct Sealing
The average home loses thirty percent of its conditioned air to leaks in the duct system.
Blower Door Testing
A Blower door is used to test air leakage in a home or building.
Building Performance Testing
An extremely comprehensive process that involves an examination of a home’s comfort, durability, and health issues. Involves use of a blower door test, duct blaster test, Infrared Camera, Smoke Pencil, CO Tester, Gas Sniffer, extensive visual inspection, analysis of utility bills and computer modeling of the home or building.
Infrared Thermography
Infrared Camera is used to find leaky and poorly insulated spots in the house.
Duct Insulating
Duct Insulating is especially important when the ducts are in a non-conditioned space like an attic, garage, basement, or crawlspace. They should be insulated after they are sealed.
Weather Stripping
Leaky exterior doors can be major culprit in causing loss of comfort and energy. Attic access doors are another major culprit.
CO/ Draft Testing
Gas appliances should be periodically checked to make sure they are burning correctly and not causing unsafe amounts of CO in the home. Also gas appliances, ie the furnace and water heater should be checked to make sure they are correctly exhausting from the house and not back drafting.
Attic Ventilation
A poorly ventilated attic can make for a very hot summer. Ventilated attics requires a certain amount of ventilation per square foot.
Insulation Removal
Most the time, your old insulation should simply be insulated over with the new added insulation, but in those cases when you want the old insulation gone or it is a health necessity, we provide this service.
