$1200.00 Rebate

The Home Performance with Energy Star is a nationwide incentive program to reduce energy use and improve home energy efficiency. The program has recently come online here in the Kansas City Metropolitan area. It is currently available to Missouri homeowners in the KCPL and Aquila districts. The program offers a $600.00 rebate for customers.  If you are in both the KCPL and MGE Districts, then the rebate is increased to $1200.00 total.  

 

In order to qualify you must get energy audit from a qualified contractor and homeowners must implement at least one energy efficiency improvement that is recommended by a Home Performance certified consultant. The Hayes Company will perform this energy audit at a a cost of $450-600. Click here to learn more about this audit.  This is the diagnostic test as established by the Building Performance Institute. The following are some the qualifying improvements:

    • Add Insulation
    • Seal Ductwork
    • Eliminate other air leaks
    • Replace electric heating system 
    • Replace electric cooling system  
    • Heating and/or cooling system  tune  up 
    • Replace windows or doors>
    • Change Light bulbs or light fixtures
    • Buy New Appliances
